'General Hospital' star's ex files restraining order amid mental health crisis

“General Hospital” star Kirsten Storms’ ex-husband, Brandon Barash, has obtained an emergency restraining order against her, according to reports.
A judge granted Barash’s request after he alleged that Storms had been suffering from a “mental health crisis,” causing him to be fearful for the safety of their 12-year-old daughter, according to court documents obtained by TMZ. The former couple were married from 2013 to 2016, and Barash said he became worried about Storms shortly after their split, when they moved into separate homes in Tennessee.
Storms’ landlord eventually sued her for eviction, and Barash noted that “instability with housing has been a recurring theme” for Storms, who he alleged was without a permanent residence between September 2024 and June 2025. He said she frequently changed hotel rooms during that time frame because she believed people were “following her and the child to her room.”
Barash also recalled an alleged incident from May 2025, when Storms called him to say she “didn’t think she should have the child for her parenting time” because she was “experiencing delusions and hallucinations,” the court documents said. Storms was subsequently placed on a psychiatric hold, but Barash said she acted as though nothing happened upon her release.
The following year, Storms again called Barash while apparently unwell. She told him people were breaking into her apartment, moving things and placing them into her car to “mess with her,” the court documents said.
Barash said it became the norm, with Storms suffering “repeated episodes of melting down, being triggered, hearing things/voices that weren’t there.” He also alleged her friends told him she has been abusing Adderall and other substances.
Storms, who recently returned to “General Hospital” after a six-month hiatus, is still allowed “supervised visitation with their daughter.” Barash has requested that she also undergo a mental health evaluation.
The actress has played Maxie on General Hospital on and off since 2005.
In July 2025, she revealed she need to take a step back from the show to undergo brain surgery.
