US First Lady Melania Trump "hates" her husband President Donald Trump's fist-pumping, hip shake dance moves to Y.M.C.A.
The Commander-in-Chief said she thinks his viral groove to the Village People's 1978 hit - which he called the "gay national anthem" - is "not presidential".
President Trump spoke about Y.M.C.A. at The Villages retirement community in Sumterville, Florida, on Friday (01.05.26), and he said of his wife: "She hates when I dance to what's sometimes referred to as the gay national anthem, you know. She hates it."
Explaining why Melania loathes his signature dance moves, Donald continued: "We love that song. But she goes, 'Darling, please.' You know, she's a very elegant woman. She goes, 'Darling, please, don't dance. It's not presidential.'"
He responded: "'It may not be presidential, but I'm leading by 20 points in the polls.'"
Y.M.C.A. was the soundtrack to the Republican politician's 2024 presidential campaign, and Donald bragged that he got the track to number one - 46 years after the track's release.
He claimed: "You know, that song was number five 32 years ago, and it went to number one 32 years later. There's never been anything like it. It never hit number one. It was number five 32 years ago, and it went to number one for months during the last months of the campaign."
In fact, Y.M.C.A was released 48 years ago in October 1978, and peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in February the following year.
It only got to number one on the Billboard Dance Digital Song Sales chart in November 2024, and stayed there for six weeks.
In an X post at the time, Billboard penned: "Village People's classic Y.M.C.A. spends a fifth week at No. 1 on Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales, the most for any song by a group in 2024. The song originally reached No. 2 on the Hot 100 in 1979. (sic)"
The president treated the crowd to his iconic fist-pumping, hip shake dance moves - plus a faux golf swing - as Y.M.C.A. blasted out of the speakers at the end of his address at The Villages retirement community.
