NEW YORK — Amazon owner Jeff Bezos and his wife Lauren Sanchez Bezos have reportedly invited guests to a Saturday night party preceding Monday’s Met Gala, which the couple is co-chairing.

A disco-themed invite to the “Pre-Met celebration” viewed by Variety promises attendees that the address for the fete will be provided upon confirmation. The couple reportedly have a home in New York City, where the party could be held.

Demonstrators denouncing the 62-year-old hundred-billionaire’s ties to the Trump administration and his online retail giant’s labor practices started showing up on the Upper East Side in the weeks leading up to the May 4 gala. Other signs accused Bezos of not paying enough in taxes.

Bezos is no stranger to seeing protesters come between himself and a lavish celebration.

When he married Lauren Sanchez in July, Italian protesters in Venice used banners and signs to make clear they weren’t thrilled about the couple turning that tourist town upside down.

The theme of the 2026 Met Gala is “Costume Art.”

Vogue said the tony night’s aesthetic “will consider depictions of the dressed body from across the Met’s curatorial departments, pairing garments with art objects spanning some 5,000 years.”

Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams and Anna Wintour are also co-chairing Monday’s celebration benefiting the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute.
