Paint a ‘whiteboard’ on a wall
Anyone who uses a whiteboard at work or school knows how easy it is to write, edit, erase and redo on the markable, writeable and erasable surface of a whiteboard. You can create your own “whiteboard” on a wall in your house using a dry-erase coating on a clean surface. Add a calendar in the kitchen or a family message center on the back of a door. Let the kids be creative on a wall in their room or the basement or make a whiteboard in your home office.
A painter will charge $322, which includes labor and material, to create a white board in a room using a dry erase coating like Sketch Pad by Sherwin-Williams. It’s a two-part water-based coating with a high-gloss finish that you can buy in a one-quart can of clear coating. The $65 coating goes over almost any surface and covers approximately 50 square feet. The water-based formula cleans up with soap and water, and when it’s time for a change, scuff up and sand the surface and then prime and paint over the marking surface.
