Taylor Frankie Paul and Doug Mason, the Dakota Mortensen-lookalike to whom she reportedly got engaged at the end of her canceled “Bachelorette” season, are trying to “get back together.”

The “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” star, 31, dominated headlines last month when her season of “The Bachelorette” was pulled just before the premiere.

That move occurred hours after TMZ published 2023 footage of Paul hurling metal bar stools at Mortensen, one of which appeared to hit her daughter Indy, then 5. The incident resulted in her much-publicized arrest and probation. In the wake of the video, Paul also lost temporary custody of Ever, the 2-year-old son she shares with Mortensen.

Now, an insider tells Us Weekly that Mason, 28, and Paul are “trying to make it work,” and “want to see if they can get back together and be a couple.”

Amid the upheaval, Mason said he was “sending prayers to Taylor because that was her moment and her moment was blocked.” He encouraged others to “show nothing but support for people in need.”

“I don’t really love what I’ve heard [about Mortensen]. I’d hate to be compared to somebody who’s treated Taylor like that,” Mason recently told the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast when their physical resemblance was brought up. “I just hope that people can see me for who I am.”

Trouble for Paul started brewing last month amid reports of domestic violence between her and Mortensen on Feb. 24 and 25, with “allegations … made in both directions.” Utah officials have since declined to charge Paul and, subsequently, Mortensen.

Paul filed a counter temporary restraining order against Mortensen earlier this month.

A Utah judge has determined that Paul can see their son for up to eight weekly hours of supervised parent time in the run-up to a court hearing this Thursday.

Filming for the fifth season of “Secret Lives” was put on pause, though Us Weekly reported last week the show is now “set to resume production.”
